Character Counts alot. Although it is tempting to go and teach young people to use ridiculous methods to pursue goals and fulfill desires, the consequences of teaching foolishness will always out weigh the rewards. Youth sports has become very competitive, getting lost in the desire to win, or to be the best is becoming widespread amongst parents and children. Fighting verbally and/or physically, the by any means neccessary approach to gain an advadtage attitude, and so many other ridiculous things are begining to tarnish the truth of what youth sports can do for kids. Building Character, Building Confidence and Growing quality citizens that can adequately function in society amongst others should be first, last and everything in between. But its not, and thats a shame.
I have no answer to the problem, I can't fix it, however I can plant seeds one at a time, and continue to do what I know should be done regardless of what I see continually.
